I've loved animals as long as I can remember. I'm fascinated with their behaviors and personalities. The most fascinating thing about pets is their companionship with humans. At age 21 I lost my childhood dog, Roscoe. He was a blue Great Dane. He was a big clumsy dog who slobbered all over everything. He was my best friend. I remember as a puppy his feet were so big he couldn't help but trip over them. He did finally grow into his feet, but never really learned how big he was. He had a habit of leaning into people and nearly pushing them over. It's painful, of course, to lose a friend, but time goes on and as it does new memories form. Right now I have an adorable Beagle, Snoopy, whom you'll find pictures of on this site. He brings so much exciting energy into the house. What I love most about Snoopy is his facial expressions. You can read him like a book. He smiles, he pouts, he gets scared, he gets curious, and you can see it all in his face. The thing Snoopy loves more than anything is food, but his next favorite is people. Sometimes I have one on one talks with him and he stares straight into my eyes. His attention span is amazing for a beagle. If only pets could talk so we know what they're thinking. Or maybe we already know. People become pretty intuitive with their pets. I know this seems like more of a Bio for my pets than myself, but since that's the topic at hand... |
